Canon Solutions America is currently hiring for our 2018 Canon Insights Intern Program.  The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (8:30 AM to 5 PM), 38.75 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.


As a group that is responsible for bringing innovative ideas from initial concept to Market, there is a need for an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the lead EE. Typical tasks may include:


  • Electrical Analog/digital circuit design and/or analysis
  • Schematic entry and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design
  • Bill of materials (BOM)
  • Circuit debug/bring up using EE Lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, etc.)
  • Assisting in design reviews and verifications
  • Following engineering department design flow processes and procedures
  • Assisting manufacturing in trouble-shooting problems, upgrades, set-ups and methods development
  • Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Performing electrical tests and documenting experimental results in a laboratory facility
  • Providing assistance with inputs for identify and migrating technical project risks, technical and integration dependencies that could potentially affect overall project plans and scheduling
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for internal processes
  • Gaining exposure and experience in working with global cross functional teams
  • Flexible work schedule given potential deadlines


The applicant will be expected to work \"cross functionally\" with Software and Mechanical engineers, and will likely \"hit the ground\" running and learning.


We prefer students that are entering their Junior or Senior year as of the Summer 2018, however, all are welcome to apply. To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience.  Electrical Engineering or similar majors preferred.
