Responsibilities

  • Supervises and administers the following:
  • Manages the planning for all Merchandise procurement including any pre-buy requirements and fulfillment of large customer orders.
  • Determines the purchases to be placed and issues purchase orders to vendors after obtaining the appropriate approval levels where necessary.
  • Review and manages all min-max requirements for all Merchandise requirements for all warehouse locations and revises plans as necessary.
  • Correlate sale history as required to establish the necessary purchase and support plans. Review any excess inventory and obsolescence issues, any extended lead times, delivery non-compliance, order fills rates and inventory levels to meet established monthly operational goals.
  • Monitors all vendor back-orders including all follow-up and corrective action. Communicate status to the appropriate departments as required. Reduce cycle time and improve fill rates in the supply chain where appropriate.
  • Work closely with Order Management, Warehouse Management and Zone management to satisfy all order fulfillment and delivery priority. Ensure that appropriate action is taken by all procurement staff to meet all order and delivery requirements.
  • Review data for accuracy and issue reports to all support groups in a timely manner.
  • Take a lead role in training all team members, implementing new products, representing the department as required in meetings and coaching and guiding subordinates as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement/planning/inventory experience in a Finished Goods environment
  • Strong business experience with excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership, coaching and team building skills; strong customer service and communication skills; goal oriented
  • Computer proficiency including Excel and Microsoft Office; Oracle experience a plus or any other Purchasing software programs
